Dunbarton Tobacco and Trust Sobremesa Brulee Wagashi Prensado 6×50

Dunbarton Tobacco and Trust just released their newest rendition of a Connecticut Shade Cigar. Along with their famous Sobremesa Brulée and Sobremesa Brulée Blue, a select collaboration they did with Cigar Dojo has been added to their portfolio. Introducing the Dunbarton Tobacco and Trust Sobremesa Brulée Wagashi Box Press Prensado. Boy oh boy, that was a mouthful. The Brulée, although Saka claims is not sweetened or sweet tipped, offers a decent amount of sweetness, coupled with creaminess, roasted almonds, caramel, light cedar, and overall deep flavor. The Sobremesa Brulée Blue is a slightly tweaked, amped up version. This is the lighter cigar that is meant for a more medium body, medium strength crowd. While it brings similar notes to the palate it also offers a fuller punch to it. The Brulée Blue not a full cigar, but it honestly smokes heavier.

Freshly added to their portfolio is the new limited Connecticut Sobremesa Brulée Wagashi. The term ‘Wagashi’ is loosely translated as ‘Japanese confectionery.’ According to Steve Saka of Dunbarton, he says, “I have been tinkering with a larger format of my Sobremesa Brulée Blue Liga for a couple of years on and off. My original intent was to craft a ’Big Blue,’ but when the opportunity arose to create something special for Dojo, it refocused my efforts, as the Brulée blend is one of Sensei’s favorites. Trunk pressing this liga proved to be quite a challenge, not only due to the bruising and splitting of the shade wrappers but how it impacted the flavor and burn.” He further states the inent of the blend by stating, “The Sobremesa Brulée Wagashi is not meant for the Brulée Blue smokers. This is a more light, more smooth, very flavorful.”

The Dunbarton Sobremesa Brulée Wagashi is limited to only 5,000 boxes of 13 this year. The Wagashi is placed in 13 count boxes and limited to one size; a 6×50 box press or as Steve likes to say, trunk pressed. This bold in flavor but light in body Brulée offers a unique twist on one of his most popular brands. I am very excited to share the Sobremesa Brulée Wagashi with everyone. I think it offers a very unique smoking experience and combines rich flavor with a creamy sweetness like no other. Dunbarton Sobremesa Brulee Wagashi is Available Now!
