Sobremesa Brûlée by Dunbarton Tobacco and Trust

Steve Saka is a legend in the industry when it comes to blending. Earlier on, he was known for his accolades working for Drew Estate and the Liga Privada lines. If you have ever enjoyed the packaging and unique experience a Liga Privada can offer, then you have enjoyed Steve’s handy work. Now several years later he has founded his own company known as Dunbarton Tobacco and Trust, a premium line of cigars that offer a wide variety for every palate. One such stick is the Sobremesa Brûlée, a Connecticut Shade cigar accented with a beautiful gold label. The name, much like most of his lines, might sound strange to the US market. Saka has explained that Sobremesa or “over the table”, has no precise English translation, perhaps because there is no cultural equivalent in the US. It is an idiom used among the Latin culture to describe the leisurely time spent tableside after you have finished dining, but before you rise. Which, of course, is indicative of the strength and flavor of Sobremesa Brulee. Saka has further been quoted to say the following about the beautifully crafted cigar:

“The Brûlée is a variation of the core Sobremesa liga in which the Pennsylvania Seedleaf ligero has been removed, the Condega Seco has been increased and the Capa is now a top shelf grade of Ecuador Connecticut Shade. The result is a milder, even smoother adaptation of the Sobremesa blend that continues to retain its wonderfully complex flavors and aromas.”

As far as the experience of the Sobremesa Brulee, this Connecticut offers notes of custard cream, cedar, caramel, with subtle hints of underlining sweetness. Steve Saka offers this as a way to enjoy a Connecticut no matter where your preference might be; mild, medium, or full. The Sobremesa Brulee can be enjoyed by everyone. It might just be heaven with a cup of coffee. Just saying.
