HDA Sentinel Limited Edition Cigar

Hermanos de Armes Sentinel, it’s finally here! The long-awaited blend from the veteran company has dropped at Oak Glen Tobacconist! This anticipated release is a follow up to last year’s HDA Phantom Fury Sumatra. The HDA Sentinel Limited Edition is a 6 x 50 Toro wrapped in Mexican San Andrés with a Nicaraguan binder and filler, creating a rich, sweet, chocolate-heavy cigar with just enough spice to keep things interesting. The fillers in the HDA Sentinel are composed of the Ometepe, Condega, and Jalapa regions.

The HDA Sentinel is blended with Lee Marsh of Stolen Throne Cigars and made at the Rojas Cigar Factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. It’s also the first HDA limited edition produced outside Fabrica Oveja Negra. The name also has personal meaning. HDA co-founder Zack Van Ginkel chose Sentinel as a nod to his military and professional background and his experience around surveillance aircraft. As Zach says, “Our goal was to create a cigar that is completely different than our core line, much like we did last year with Phantom Fury. Sentinel is an extremely sweet and chocolatey cigar with hints of spice from the wrapper.” Only 600 boxes of 20 were made, making this a seriously limited release.

Once you light up the Sentinel, the first thing you’ll notice is the sweetness. Rich chocolate and pepper spice come through right away, followed by a little spice from the Mexican San Andrés wrapper. As the cigar burns, the chocolate and sweetness linger while the spice adds balance without taking over. It’s a rich and easy-to-enjoy profile that’s noticeably different from the HDA core cigars. If you like chocolate-forward cigars with some spice in the mix, this one should be right up your alley.

The HDA Sentinel Limited Edition is available at Oak Glen Tobacconist while we have them. With only 600 boxes produced, this isn’t a cigar you’ll want to put off buying if you’re a fan of HDA Cigars or limited boutique releases. Add a few to the humidor, sit back, and see why the Sentinel Cigar is such an interesting addition to the Hermanos de Armas lineup. Look for the HDA Sentinel at OGT Cigars!
