The Connecticut-wrapped cigar that smokes above its appearances. What does that mean? We’ve all heard the term not your grandfather’s Connecticut cigar. The Black Label Trading Company Porcelain is just that, but more interesting, more balanced, and delivers incredible flavor. Originally, when we first brought in Black Label Trading Company Cigars, I nearly didn’t add the Porcelain to the order. My friend, our company rep, warned me I needed to include one of their best sellers. Boy oh boy, am I glad he told me that. Even for those who are not necessarily fans of Connecticut-wrapped cigars, this one is special; it bridges the gap.

Like all Black Label Trading Company Cigars, the Porcelain has a fuller body and flavor, strength-wise I would put it in the medium range. The original release of Black Label Trading Porcelain was limited to a single edition. However, it gained such traction that James Brown, owner and blender, had to add it to his portfolio. My theory on why the Porcelain has a stronger body is that it’s due to the filler. While it has Nicaraguan inside, it also boasts some Pennsylvania. I believe, and again this is just a theory, that the Pennsylvania tobacco is bolder and bolsters the blend.

Black Label Trading Company Porcelain has a beautiful Connecticut shade wrapper over a Habano binder and fillers from Nicaragua and Pennsylvania. According to BLTC, they say the notes on the cigar are as follows: “Mild white pepper and a hint of chili mix with cedar and herbs. The creamy profile is the perfect balance of spice and complexity with just a hint of sweetness on the finish. The retro has chili spice and bright citrus notes.”
