The blend was created to be a partner to the not-yet-unveiled Black Lightning Texas Bourbon whiskey, roughly translating the barrel’s sweetness, spice, and depth into a cigar. The end result is one of the most focused whiskey-pairing cigars the brand has ever produced.
This 6.5 × 48 Short Churchill flaunts an oily 11-year-aged Colorado wrapper over binder and filler tobaccos aged between 5 and 12 years. The first third brings out bourbon, dark caramel, Dutch chocolate, vanilla bean, and white oak. The second third turns into butterscotch, cocoa, cinnamon, toasted almond, and graham cracker. The last third leaves the taste of white cake frosting, custard, toasted marshmallow, black pepper, rum barrel, and fresh-brewed coffee. It is a full-bodied, medium-full smoke; it offers a dense, layered, whiskey-driven profile from start to finish.
