Salvation Toro Cigar by Black Label Trading Company

There are a handful of absolute favorites when it comes to a Sun Grown wrapper in the cigar industry. One such stick, the Salvation cigar, comes from a brand I have much respect for; Oveja Negra Brands. ONB is responsible for Black Label Trading Company, Black Works Studios, Dissident cigars, and House of Emilio. The Salvation toro is a multi-country blend primarily from Nicaragua. Black Label Trading Co. is known for a bold take on flavor, with a punch of strength. Their Salvation cigar is nothing less. The wrapper is an Ecuadorian Sun Grown. The leaf is textured with veins and a toothy surface, inciting anticipation of flavor. The binder hails from Honduras, and the fillers are a mixture of Nicaraguan. BLTC’s Royalty and Last Rites also employ the use of a Honduran binder. Whether or not it is the same leaf used on Salvation, I am not sure, but it seems to play nice with their tobacco.

Salvation is a great addition to the Black Label trading core line, rounding out the lineup. Their two blends Lawless and Last Rites edge on the side of full in strength, porcelain mild to medium, the Royalty medium, and the Salvation in that medium to the medium-plus arena. On light up, I get a decent amount of pepper, not overbearing, but it is forward. A steady amount of sweetness underlines cedar and earth. The sweetness moves up as the stick smokes through to the second third. This cigar really brings a decent balance of those notes through the transitions, with hints of coffee, toasted nuts, and savoriness. If you are a fan of spice, this is a cigar I would recommend.

It’s not a wonder Black Label trading Salvation Toro was rated #3 Cigar of the Year at Oak Glen Tobacconist!

The Black Label Trading Salvation is just one of the five core lines we are going to feature at our event on May 14th. Try this one as well as a whole host of Black Label Trading and Black Works Studio cigars at the event!
