Chaffiot Cigars Freedom Fighter 6×54 Toro Is Back!

Chaffiot Cigars have been a part of Oak Glen Tobacconist’s journey nearly from the beginning. This is the cigar brand built on the foundation of amazing cigar craftsmanship and a commitment to fighting human trafficking! One of the biggest releases in our history together is the Chaffiot Freedom Fighter Brazilian Mata Fina Maduro. The original drop from the company was crafted in two sizes, a Lancero and a ‘thick’ Churchill. However, in May of 2023, we released the Chaffiot Freedom Fighter Bloody Knuckle Toro together. This was a custom 6×54 box-press Toro made for our OGT Cigar Society. It was such a hit that the Oak Glen Tobacconist cigar community voted it the #2 cigar of the year! Fast forward to the present day, and the Chaffiot Freedom Fighter has been re-released in an updated box with beautiful packaging and the return of the Bloody Knuckle vitola, a 6×54 Box Press!

This is such an incredible blend, and the new Toro size remains my favorite! The Chaffiot Freedom Fighter boasts a dark, oily-looking Brazilian Mata Fina Maduro wrapper over an Ecuadorian Binder and Nicaraguan fillers. Brazilian Mata Fina is one of my favorite tobaccos on a Maduro. It brings sweetness, leathery, and silky flavor with a powdery smoke texture. Mata Fina is one of the oldest tobacco seed varieties, and it elevates a blend like no other!

Chaffiot Freedom Fighter Maduro delivers a deep flavor of leather, black tea, charred oak, a touch of spice, and a sweet finish. The smoke texture, unlike so many others, is powdery and smooth, enveloping the palate. One of the distinct qualities of this cigar is the full-bodied coating of the palate. This is set against a backdrop of smooth balance. Sometimes the temptation is to think a cigar like this is not only fuller-bodied but also full in strength. However, when you enjoy this cigar, it isn’t overbearing in any way; instead, it is a slow approach and finishes clean.
