Black Label Trading Company Macabre Limited Edition Now Shipping!

One of Black Label Trading Company’s most exciting projects is now shipping out! If you haven’t heard the news, the newest limited project from Oveja Negra is finally here! Introducing the Black Label Trading Company Macabre San Andres Maduro! Released in three sizes and limited to a select number of retailers, the Black Label trading Macabre is not only stunning in appearance but also in profile! It was one of the big highlights that the team at Oveja was showcasing at the PCA Trade show!

This was the first cigar I smoked at the PCA 2026. I was on a mission: get to the booth, secure it for our community, and light it up on the show floor. I was not disappointed. It has a full-flavored balance to the profile, with deep notes and the robusto body you would expect from Black Label’s Cigars. As James Brown says, “Macabre is quintessential Black Label – rich, dark, and elegant with a perfect balance of strength and flavor. The earthy, floral notes on the palate combine perfectly with the bold, intense spice on the retrohale to create a beautiful balance and unique smoking experience.”

In terms of flavor notes for me, there is a formidable blast of signature Oveja Negra power on the retro hale, but it is balanced by softer notes of earth, leather, and sweetness. Subtle notes of floral transitions, star anise, and charred oak follow. I definitely feel like this is a more elegant approach to their portfolio while embracing everything I have come to love about their cigars. As I mentioned, BLTC’s newest cigar, the Macabre, is released in three sizes:

They are packaged in beautiful 20-count boxes. The label is a stunning depiction of a sheep’s skeleton, a nod to the Oveja Negra logo. The blend is a multi-country one, with a Mexican San Andres Maduro wrapper over an Ecuadorian Binder, and fillers from Nicaragua. The cigar debuted at this year’s PCA Trade Show in New Orleans. Macabre is handcrafted at Fabrica Oveja Negra in Esteli, Nicaragua.
