Black Works Studio Culture Vulture Barber Pole Just Dropped

James Brown of Black Label Trading Company and Black Works Studio has created an impressive Barber Pole, featuring three different wrappers and three different sizes! Introducing the highly limited, brand-new Black Works Studio Culture Vulture. Featuring wrappers of Ecuadorian Habano Maduro, Candela, and Connecticut, the Culture Vulture Cigar is reminiscent of the highly sought-after Neon Tiger, Tiger Lily, and Khan blends in the Ambush collection. However, as James Brown says, this is the boldest cigar he has created for Black Works Studio Cigars! The primary wrapper leaf of the blend is the dark Ecuadorian Habano Maduro. The Culture Vulture debuted at the 2026 PCA Trade Show in New Orleans! It is now available, but in very limited quantities!

According to the owner and blender of Oveja Negra Brands, James Brown says, “The Culture Vulture represents a whole new level for Black Works Studio. It’s unlike anything we’ve created before, from the artwork and overall concept to the construction of the cigar itself. From the first look, the dual wrapper grabs your attention with an ‘Ombré’-style fade that moves from green to yellow and back to green, highlighting the contrast between the Candela and Habano wrappers.

The artwork was created alongside the cigar, with both designed to capture the same bold, unconventional energy. For me, the visual identity and the cigar itself must work together—they’re both part of telling the story. But the real story is in the profile. This is, without question, the boldest profile we’ve ever created for Black Works. There’s an intensity and depth to it that feels completely unique and pushes the boundaries of what we’ve done before. Culture Vulture isn’t just another cigar for us; it’s a statement.”

James Brown has taken a more artistic approach with this barber pole. The primary wrapper leaf is Maduro, with Connecticut and Candela accents. Both tobaccos fade into themselves, giving a sort of ‘morphing into a different tobacco’ look. I can’t say I have seen this look on any other cigar. The Black Works Studio Culture Vulture comes in three sizes: a 5.25×5 Robusto, a 6×48 Toro, and an even more limited 6×42 Panatela, essentially a shorter, slightly thicker Lancero. This is the first time Black Works Studio Culture Vulture has been released.

All three sizes are currently available at OGT Cigars in limited numbers. This brand-new, artistic drop is one you don’t want to miss!
