Year Of The Nope Rope Series Returns To Oak Glen Tobacconist.

The celebrated 2025 Lancero series has returned to Oak Glen Tobacconist! If you haven’t tried the unique and brilliant experience of our custom Lancero set, this is one you don’t want to miss. Let me reintroduce you to Year of the Nope Rope. The name plays on the many cigars that follow the Chinese leap-year calendar. The Nope Rope Lanceros are crafted for the Year of the Snake Lunar Year; it initially began with the Habano version.

Year Of The Nope Rope Habano – OGT Year of the Nope Rope features a Habano 2000 wrapper leaf. Underneath is a binder from Nicaragua and fillers both from Jalapa and Esteli Nicaragua. The maker of this cigar is undisclosed, adding to the allure of its composition. What I can say is the blender wanted to pass on their remarks and say, “You can’t hide behind a Lancero. It’s the blend’s truest form. You have so little you are working with in such a small gauge, know what I mean?” Nope Rope delivers a healthy portion of black pepper with toasted nuttiness, cream, baking spice, sweetness, and a minty texture. I love it!

After the Habano release, my personal favorite was the Nope Rope Maduro. This beautiful 7×42, closed-foot Lancero is wrapped in a gorgeous San Andres Maduro wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and fillers. It’s bold, intense, and wonderful to smoke with deep notes of Christmas spice, dark roast coffee, dark chocolate, pepper notes, and a finishing sweetness. I think our Society community will love this one. The Nope Rope Maduro was later voted as the #5 Cigar of the year at Oak Glen Tobacconist.

The third installment was our Halloween exclusive, the Nope Rope Cameroon known as Sweet Venom- a 7×42 closed-foot, flag-topped Lancero sporting a textured Cameroon wrapper over a choice Nicaraguan binder and fillers. Cameroon tobacco tends to have a sweeter, savory, and earthy quality, and the right balance is needed to ensure it doesn’t lean too heavily on the bitter side. We have created something truly exceptional in this blend. I love the sweetness, the ‘kettle-corn’ quality, and the savory depth to this blend. At first light, the closed foot gives you a blast of Cameroon flavor in that wrapper leaf, with notes of white pepper, earth, and brilliant sweetness.

And finally, the Nope Rope Connecticut dropped during Black Friday – This brilliant, silky, almost gold-looking Connecticut offers a flavor unlike any of the other Nope Rope blends! We have never produced a Connecticut Shade exclusive before this one! The vitola is the same as the previous blends: a 7×42, closed-foot, flag-topped cigar. I have to give a shout-out to my wife, Mallory, for designing the label. The brilliant blue and accented red really make the appearance pop! During testing, we chose Cameroon as our Halloween exclusive, and it is one of my personal favorites; however, she was pushing for this one’s release. It is a very special blend, both dynamic in appearance and flavor. A wave of white pepper and vanilla sweetness greets you at the beginning. This is followed by toasted nuttiness, almond milk, hints of pepper spice, nutmeg, creamy brilliance, charred oak, and lingering sweetness.
