Exclusive Toro Grande Vitola Of Domain Attenuation Is Shipping In OGT Cigar Society

It has been a big year for the OGT Cigar Society Cigar of the Month Club. Each month, we drop a new and limited project, often exclusive to the club members. The last three months have been the first installments in the OGT ‘Knight Series’; however, this month is something entirely different, both from the series and for the club. We consistently try to voyage into ‘uncharted’ territory and try things we have never done before. This month’s cigar is perhaps one of the biggest endeavors we have ever done. Introducing, for the first time, an Exclusive from Domain Cigars, a Gordo vitola, and the first ever Connecticut Cigar to make an appearance in the OGT Cigar Society!

First new thing: An exclusive from Domain Cigars. Domain has consistently impressed ever since we brought them into the humidor. All cigars are crafted at the Tabacalera Familia Disla S.A. factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. Former blender of Roma Craft Cigars, Esteban Disla, along with co-owner Daniel Lance, has built a brand not only on quality but also on the utmost attention to detail. When they release a cigar, it’s more than just a new blend; it’s something that immerses you into their craft. Their newest creation is the Domain Attenuation Connecticut, showcased at the PCA tradeshow. Due to VERY high minimum requirements, we had not been able to get an exclusive from them for the membership until now.

Second: The Connecticut Cigar. Yes, we have never had a Connecticut cigar in the membership before! Why? I am very picky about what type of Connecticut Cigar I want to offer our members. Our club is made up of ‘Cigar Smokers’. People with amazing palates and discerning tastes. It is no secret that I am not the biggest fan of Connecticut shade cigars, but there are several I really enjoy. While they typically lean toward a more aggressive approach, a Connecticut doesn’t need to be strong for me to enjoy it. With this blend, we wanted our first Connecticut to be represented with elegance, complexity, and an elevated experience. That’s why we went with a custom Domain Attenuation Connecticut vitola.

I think of favorites like Dunbarton Tobacco and Trust Sobremesa Brulee Wagashi, Foundation Highclere Castle, and Artesano Del Tobacco Viva La Vida Connecticut are prime examples of a Connecticut cigar that is more than just a cigar; it’s a refined experience. The Domain Attenuation is just that. This is an elegant, somewhat expensive cigar that pays attention to detail and flavor. There are a few things that set this cigar apart from any other Connecticut Shade cigar put there. The wrapper uses a special ‘Casjuca’ varietal from Connecticut seed. This leaf is grown on only one farm in Ecuador and is limited to 1,000 acres. This ensures quality and consistency. Only a select few manufacturers have access to this. Secondly, the blend combines an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper with Nicaraguan binder and fillers, including the company’s proprietary Vanguard Aegis tobacco—a unique hybrid developed from Corojo and Criollo ’98.

The third and final new thing: The size. This custom offering of the Domain Attenuation Connecticut is in a 6×60 Toro Grande. Found nowhere else! How was this possible? This was a secret rescue mission from the Disla factory. Daniel Lance called me up and said, ” We had a miscommunication at the factory, and I thought of you first!” Only a VERY, VERY small number of 6x60s were made with the new Attenuation blend. Just enough to cover the Society. No one else has this cigar. Given that this was a small portion of the cigars from Domain’s newest blend, I had to secure them. Only OGT Cigar Society members get this one-off cigar.

They have been resting, aging, and getting even better as the months have passed. As I said, this is not just a Connecticut Cigar. In my mind, the Attenuation is up there in quality with bigger names with bigger price tags.
