OGT Cigar Society Gets Renfield Remastered Exclusive for October Box 2025

In a matter of 48 hours, Renfield Remasted, the OGT Cigars Halloween exclusive, has sold out! However, not all hope is lost in getting your hands on it! This is the same blend as the original released in 2023, but a different vitola. We had gotten a lot of requests to bring Renfield back, and we didn’t want to until we got it perfectly right.

The original Renfield cigar was a 6.25×48 box-pressed ‘Thin Toro’, while the new Renfield Remastered is a 6×54 box-pressed Perfecto. I use the term Perfecto, a little loosely. While there is a taper on the head and foot of the cigar, the foot is somewhat subtle. The thicker ring gauge allows a heartier, fuller smoke in a classic favorite size. The blend remains the same with a dark, textured Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper over a Criollo 98 binder, and packed with a mix of Nicaraguan fillers. The combination is an absolute masterpiece, one of my favorite cigars that spotlights a broadleaf wrapper.

In terms of flavor notes, upon lighting up, there is a mixture of black pepper spice and dark cherry-like or dark fruit sweetness. This is followed by a sweet, bread note —perhaps sourdough —with deeper notes of oak, espresso, stone fruit, bread pudding, dark chocolate, cinnamon, and a finishing sweetness. The duality of forceful spice and complementing sweetness is an excellent balance. The cigar offers a wide range of flavors and complexity that really elevates the blend to a new level. It would be difficult for me to choose which size is my favorite, this new 6×54 Perfecto or the original 6.25×48 thin toro. They both have such an incredible experience; they are on another level.
