OGT Cigar Society Is Shipping NEW Club Exclusive Year Of The Nope Rope Maduro Lancero 7×42

OGT Cigar Society is mailing out the newest exclusive project to all Society members! This is a follow up to the OGT Lunar Series showcasing a sort of ‘tongue-and-cheek’ take on the Year of the Snake. I think it’s due to the many, and I mean many, releases throughout the cigar industry that bear that name. The comical naming started last year when we released the Year of the Smokey Lizard, instead of year of the Dragon. The Smokey Lizard featured a beautiful Habano 2000 wrapper over Nicaraguan Binder and Fillers. It was released in one size, a 6×52 Parejo Toro. Voted on by all our community, the Lizard made OGT #9 on the Cigar of the Year list for 2024. In January 2025 with debuted Year of the Nope Rope, also a Habano 2000 wrapped cigar. This was met with very positive feedback. At the halfway mark of 2025, the final release this year in the series is Year Of The Nope Rope Maduro.

Following in the footsteps of the first Lancero, the label combines retro illustrations set against a noir, synth-wave gradient. My wife Mallory designed the previous releases as well as this one. I think she knocked it out of the park!

We continue to get requests for it far after its inception in January. It is only fitting we get to see the Maduro version at the half year mark. This beautiful 7×42, closed foot Lancero is wrapped in a gorgeous San Andres Maduro wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and fillers. It’s bold, intense, and wonderful to smoke with deep notes of Christmas spice, dark roast coffee, dark chocolate, pepper notes, and a finishing sweetness. In tradition to the first drop, the maker of this cigar is undisclosed, adding to the allure of its composition. What I can say is the blender wanted to pass on their remarks and say, “You can’t hide behind a Lancero. It’s the blend’s truest form. You have so little you are working with in such a small gauge, know what I mean?” I have consistently gone back to this cigar since the early part of this year. I am happy to see so many people enjoy the first Lancero. I think people miss out when they don’t give Lanceros the time they deserve. It’s sort of known as the Cigar Nerd’s choice. The wrapper-to-filler ratio is so dramatic that it dials the flavor way up from a larger ring gauge, and you get all that cocoa and coffee from the San Andres.
