This beautifully crafted, perhaps gritty-looking barber pole was first released in 2023 at the PCA Trade Show. Dissident has made the Barber Pole a signature look for limited production blends. While the Dissident Home is perhaps the most popular, cigars like the NEW Plasmatic, the Heretic, and even the Dissident Revolt stand out in appearance but in craftsmanship. While both Dissident Revolt and Dissident Home share similar tobaccos, they deliver very different types of flavors.
According to the owner of Dissdent, Cynn Colburn, “The ReVolt is a continuation of the promise we made to bring individuality, art, and punk to the world of cigars. Dissident is about telling a story. A story of hope and encouragement to be uniquely you and to stand up in the face of adversity. Anyone who has read history knows that progress is made through rebellion. The ReVolt encompasses what Dissident stands for. Being a true punk. Straying from the herd. The ReVolt is another page in the book of Dissident and its ever-continuing writings.”
In terms of composition, the Dissident Revolt Robusto is wrapped in an Ecuadorian Corojo and Maduro combination. The blend uses an Ecuadorian binder and fillers from Nicaragua. The Revolt is released in only one size; a 5×50 Robusto. While the tobaccos are the same as Home, I feel like it has a little more ‘oomph’ to it. Definitely a little more peppery. In terms of other notes, Dissident Revolt starts out strong with spiciness on the retrohale, followed by leather tones, a toasty nuttiness, coffee , charred oak and finish of more leather and light sweetness. This cigar a smoke producer. It bellows easily from each puff of the open draw.
Oveja Negra always has incredible things; the Dissident Revolt offers a unique but welcoming experience.
