Dunbarton Tobacco and Trust Sobremesa Solita Toro

Dunbarton Tobacco and Trust is rising in popularity. This certainly appeared to be the case at the most recent PCA Trade Show. With a stellar core line, that Owner and Blender Steve Saka says is the key to a successful brand, there is a cigar for anyone. Whether you prefer something light and smooth like the Sobremesa Brulee or Brulee Blue, or bold and heavy like Mi Querida Triqui Traca, Dunbarton combines Steve’s expertise in blending and knowledge with innovative tobacco processing. Among the various new releases coming from the brand like Sobremesa Wagashi Connecticut and the #GFY Lancero set, a whole new rebranding taken place for his first blend. Instead of being confused with the Brulee, and to help the brand stand out more, he has rebranded his Habano to be the Sobremesa Solita.

The name Sobremesa, according to Saka, somewhat translates to “Over the table” However there is no direct translation. “It is an idiom used among the Latin culture to describe the leisurely time spent tableside after you have finished dining, but before you rise. It is the experience of lingering casually with family and friends in conversation, relaxing, drinking, smoking, and enjoying each other’s company. Sobremesa is one of life’s simplest, yet greatest pleasures. Solita is the Spanish word for ‘little sun. It is appropriate to describe its Sungrown Habana capa grown in the valleys of Ecuador which often have cloud cover, hence filtering the sun which results in its exquisite texture and smooth flavors.”

The blend is available in four sizes: Sobremesa Solita Robusto Largo, Sobremesa Solita El American, Sobremesa Solita Elegante en Cedros, and Sobremesa Solita Short Churchill. The blend will remain the same, so no one needs to panic about it changing. However, the packaging will. Instead of the 25 count boxes, the Dunbarton Sobremeas Solita will be shipped in 13 count boxes, a number far more appetizing to box buyers. This beautiful looking Habano was the first blend Saka ever released and stands the test of time in quality and flavor. However, much like his Sobremesa Brulee, the Dunbarton Sobremesa Solita will be available in accessible boxes, fully rebranded, and able to stand out on its own.
