Cigar Clowns are back with a new drop for September! This year they have brought a diverse set of cigars. In 2021 and 2022, most of their releases were Nicaraguan blends on the stronger side. Cigar Clowns 2023 has been a roller coaster of new blends from the Dominican Republic, showing another side of them. This upcoming release, however, is somewhat reminiscent of their previous releases regarding strength and body. While the requirement of every cigar has been great construction, clear transitions, and good smoke output, there are additional layers on this upcoming release in terms of full body and fuller strength. Introducing the NEW Cigar Clowns Geppetto! The name is in reference to ‘The Puppet Master’ from the classic fable. In the long journey the Clowns have had, this symbolizes that the group ‘pulls their own strings.’

Let’s talk a little about the blend. As usual, there is a lot of mystique surrounding the composition of the cigar. Often the Clowns play the blend close to the chest; however, I can tell you that Geppetto is a 6×52 Toro. It uses an undisclosed Ecuadorian Maduro Hybrid wrapper originally from a Brazilian seed. The Binder is a Habano, and the fillers are an aged mix of Nicaraguan and Dominican Republic. According to Joe and Ray of the Clowns, they went heavy on the ligero leaves in the blending process. The band itself shows the likeness of Gepetto, with the Clown’s own twist on the concept.
