Black Star Line has worked with Aganorsa Leaf to bring about amazing blends. Using quality tobacco from Corojo to Connecticut shade and San Andres, Black Star Line has a full portfolio of premium cigars based in Nicaragua. However, Owner Aric Bey has added a new blend to the portfolio, but this time, it is something considerably different. Introducing Mr. Fahrenheit Corona Gorda, a full-bodied cigar coming from the Dominican Republic. Rolled at Tabacelera El Isla in the Dominican, this cigar is released only in one size, a 6×46 Corona Gorda. True to form from the rest of his portfolio, Mr. Fahrenheit carries on the Black Star Line tradition of thin ring gauge and leaning on the heavier side.

The Black Star Line Mr. Fahrenheit was originally released as an exclusive 5×50 Robusto for a shop called Cigar Underground. Due to popular demand, Aric continued the blend but had the new Vitola put into production. It uses a very ‘rustic’ looking Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper over a Dominican Binder and fillers from both Nicaragua and Dominican. The complex cigar comes in at the medium strength profile with a fuller body and full flavor. As usual, I like where they take the balance of flavor and strength in such a ‘thinner’ ring gauge size.

In terms of flavor notes, this definitely stands out from the rest of the Black Star Line Cigar catalog. Notes of earth, leather, and prominent caramel and kettle corn come in waves as the second third transitions. There are a few hints of spice and coffee, but overall, Black Star Line Mr. Fahrenheit leans on the sweeter side. Released originally at the 2023 PCA trade show, this cigar has just hit the shelves and is shipping now! Check out their newest cigar; it is vastly different in flavor than what you will find from their cigars from Aganorsa Leaf.
