“To die. To be really dead- that must be… glorious.” -Count Dracula

Several years ago, my brother, Andrew Drazin, illustrated a picture of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein monster enjoying a cigar. That picture is hung on the wall of the OGT Humidor. It has become somewhat of an icon at the shop and was the first canvas of art in a series of pictures called the OGT Smoking Monsters. Soon after, two more pieces were made, the Mummy Imhotep and the Creature. Last year, as a way of celebrating the Halloween season, a ‘Smoking Monsters’ pack was put together, a blind-tasting experience much like the OGT Blind Bunny pack during Easter. This year marks the first OGT Halloween cigar, the first installment of the Smoking Monster series Nosferatu.

The cigars in the Smoking Monsters series inhabit the rich characteristics of the tobacco they use, primarily from Nicaragua. The Nosferatu brings the spirit of the volcanic country in a balance of flavor and strength. This medium full-strength cigar boasts a dark Habano Maduro wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and fillers. The viola, a personal favorite of mine, is found somewhere between a Robusto and Toro, measuring 5.5×54. The flavors from Nosferatu are deep with cocoa, white pepper, leather, dark earth, wood, and a pleasant sweetness that lifts the palate.

This cigar is also special as it is a partnership with Privada Cigar Club. This is the second partnership with PCC, and one I have been greatly anticipating. While hunting for this cigar, I searched for something similar to the previous LCA release, the Purple People Eater. I absolutely loved that cigar. And with a cigar bearing the image of the first cinematic depiction of the undead, I wanted it to have refinement and bring power to the game. I wanted it to have a subtle, alluring quality while being dynamic simultaneously. I believe I have found it. Shoutout to Privada for helping me in this journey of Nosferatu.

OGT Halloween Exclusive Nosferatu drops Friday, October 14th at 9pm CA time/12am est. One hour previous, at 8pm CA time, join me on a special Instagram live to enjoy a pre-Halloween/release party of Nosferatu. I am so excited to offer this cigar to everyone in our OGT community, and I hope you all get a chance to enjoy it.
