Stolen Throne Cigars Phantom Queen Belicoso Connecticut

Stolen Throne Cigars has the quintessential Boutique/craft story. Brand owner Lee Marsh launched his brand with only one blend, the Crook of the Crown Maduro. Featuring a Mexican San Andres wrapper, over Indonesian Binder and Nicaraguan fillers, the Crook fo the Crown cigar is a delicious chocolaty, earthy, sweet delight with hints of spice and cedar. And even though the company began with only one cigar, the blend gained much attention in the market. After the success of the Crook, the second release, Call to Arms, hit the shelves. This time Lee used special priming of Sumatra and blended a beautiful medium plus strength cigar released in two sizes, a Corona and Robusto. Last year they launched their third, the Three Kingdoms Habano, completing three blends in total. Stolen Throne Cigars now has a trifecta portfolio covering three different staples in the tobacco world. Where will they go from here?

When my Wife and I visited PCA 2022, we were able to stop by the Stolen Throne Cigars booth and talk with Lee. At the trade show, he showcased his limited edition stick, launching this fall. Introducing the Stolen Throne Phantom Queen Belicoso. The Phantom Queen is a 5×54 Belicoso, featuring an Ecuadorian Connecticut Wrapper over Nicaraguan Binder and fillers. I asked Lee the strength of the Phantom Queen, assuming mild to medium. His response was not what I expected. “No, you know us and the strength we like. The Phantom Queen is full-bodied, medium to full strength.”

It’s an ambitious task to blend an Ecuadorian Connectcitut into a fuller strength cigar. It can be done, however, can it be balanced well with flavor, or is it just power? After smoking the Phantom Queen cigar, I was greatly impressed. Lee wasn’t wrong, there is strength to it, but there is definitely sweetness and cream among the power and spice. The Phantom Queen Connecticut from Stolen Throne cigars is a limited production of only 1,500 boxes of 10. It arrives in shops this fall and is a special addition to the Stolen Throne portfolio. Keep an eye out for it this year, it is a very special Connecticut that offers a unique experience.
