Black Label Trading Company and Black Works Studio have made art a staple of their cigar-making. Produced at the Oveja Negra factory in Nicaragua, the Ambush Series comprises three blends: Black Works Studio Neon Tiger, Black Works Studio Khan, and Black Works Studio Tiger Lily. All three barber poles demonstrate the brand’s superior blending style and visual excellence. However, to say these cigars are limited would be an understatement; here at OGT Cigars, we have come to call them a ‘Tiger Sighting’ because when they pop up, it is usually for the briefest of moments, and I encourage you not to sleep on them!

Each Barber Pole Cigar in the BLK WKS Ambush features three types of tobacco on the outer wrapper: Maduro, Connecticut, and Candela. However, each blend uses one of the three more prominently than the other.

The Black Works Studio Tiger Lily is more Connecticut-based and a touch longer than the other two. It has distinct ginger ale notes, along with a touch of pepper spice, creaminess, nuttiness, and light sweetness. The Black Works Studio Neon Tiger uses the vibrant green Candela leaf as the main flavor point. Neon Tiger offers a smooth, creamy balance with matcha tea, a hint of pepper, crème brûlée, and light sweetness. Finally, the strongest of the three, the Black Works Studio Khan, is more Maduro-forward. The Khan is more classic Black Works but an elevated version with pepper up front, dark chocolate, oak, savoriness, and a sweet finish.
