Following the success of the limited release in 2022, Dissident Cigars is returning with their ever-popular Dissident Molotov 2024. The cigar has a certain flare about it, with a sort of ‘shaggy’ flag at the top and dynamic art for the label. Blended by Cynn Colburn, owner of Dissident Cigars, and James Brown of Black Label Trading Co. and Black Works Studio, this exception cigar is expected to hit the market very soon.
The makeup of the blend is exciting, using both traditional Oveja Negra methods and a few innovative ones. The Dissident Molotov 2024 uses a neutral-colored Ecuadorian Rojiso wrapper over an Ecuadorian binder and mixed fillers of Esteli, Ometepe, and Dominican. The cigar is made in only one size: a 5×50 Robusto with an extended, ‘shaggy’ flag at the top, and placed in 20-count boxes. The blend itself is a full flavored, medium to full body, and medium strength cigar. I find it more complex and flavor forward than strength.
Cynn stated the mission behind the Dissident Molotov back in 2022, at the original release. She stated, “The Limited Edition Molotov is an explosion into what’s to come for Dissident. New cigars, flavor profiles, & edgy designs are all ahead for this brand.” The original blend only had a production of 500 boxes, making it an extremely limited cigar.
Not much has been disclosed on the new release except that it uses the same blend as the original and it is shipping to retailers this week! Keep an eye out for this incredibly complex, cigar!
