Drew Estate Blackened Shade To Black S84 Cigar

Drew Estate is back at it with a NEW Blackened cigar! The first iteration of this line was the Blackened M81, a dual collaboration with James Hatfield of Metallica and Rob Dietrich, the Master Distiller and Blender of BLACKENED American Whiskey. M81 was was crafted in the style of a ‘triple Maduro.’ The Drew Estate Blackened M81 is a bold, rustic, earthy cigar featuring an all-Maduro assembly of fillers including Nicaraguan and Pennsylvanian Broadleaf. The newest blend, the Drew Estate Blackened S84 is the opposite side of the spectrum. Featuring a silky, golden Connecticut Shade wrapper, they used similar fillers inside to give it more body but balanced it with a smoother flavor, hence they call it the Shade To Black. The Blackened S84 was originally launched as a secret under the Annual Freestyle Live, then later presented at the PCA trade show.

According to co-founder of Drew Estate, Jonathan Drew, he says, “I just walked inside our humidor here at headquarters and viewed the new white Blackened box sitting alongside the original black Maduro. All I can say is ‘WOW!!’ It’s so in your face, I love it. The new S84 Shade to Black is a must-try for any Connecticut Shade smoker. It’s like a deep, dark, rich Connecticut that’s smooth as silky velvet, plush with triple plushness. Rob Dietrich, Blackened’s Master Distiller, has been one of my best friends for almost 15 years. He brought Hetfield into the mix and I brought Willy and the DE brand team. This project is dope. We’re having fun with it.”

With Drew heading up the overall vision of the product and their Master Blender Willy Herrera taking the reins on blending, this cigar was created. About the blend, Herrera states, “It’s got a light wrapper, but man, it’s just flavor in your mouth. It just coats your palate, which is not typical for a Connecticut shade.”
