Dunbarton Tobacco and Trust Polpetta; what started as an exclusive, mini production is now a full line! The newest cigar to come from Steve Saka, Polpetta is also somewhat of the most different. For those of you who don’t know, Polpetta is Italian for Meatball. In New Hampshire, Dave Garafalo of the Cigar Authority Podcast holds an annual meatball contest to see who has the best recipe. Steve has been a contestant on several occasions. Creating this blend for the contest, he adapted it to be the official ‘event only’ cigar when he would visit shops. Due to success, he has now released it nationally as a part of the official Dunbarton Portfolio.
What is Dunbarton Polpetta? It sports a smaller vitola and is the only ‘mixed filler’ cigar Saka has produced. Measuring at 4×48, Polpetta features a dark, oily Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper over a Mexican San Andres binder. While the fillers are mixed, it isn’t your normal ‘chopped filler’ cigar. According to Steve, “Polpetta is not a traditional sandwich cigar – (it) has a specific, consistent blend. In addition to the table cuts, we also incorporate some long leaf filler tripa – so it is a far better grade and hybrid style of making this type of cigar. It is an improvement of the process I pioneered many years ago.”
This cigar was freshly made available for shops this week and is shipping out to retailers now. If you are looking for a cigar that isn’t too long of a commitment, delivers a rich full Maduro flavor, and priced at the most affordable Dunbarton yet, than Polpetta is your cigar! It brings all the superior quality a Saka cigar brings without breaking the bank or taking two hours out of your day! With 5 packs marked at only $37.50, who doesn’t want to light up this ‘spicy meatball?’ OGT CIgars welcomes the newest line from Steve, the Dunbarton Tobacco and Trust Polpetta.
