Stolen Throne has a new blend in the game, one announced last year at the 2022 PCA trade show and finally here! Introducing the LE Stolen Throne Phantom Queen. This cigar is a limited released, placed in 10-count boxes, and only in one vitola: a 5×54 petit Belicoso. Even though it has just now hit the shelves, this cigar has had a long journey. The owner of Stolen Throne, Lee Marsh, intended to release this stick back in 2020, but with the inception of Covid, the blend was delayed. Then, announced at the 2022 PCA trade show, the cigar was held back further because of shipping issues and hurricanes! That’s right, hurricanes! However, finally, the Phantom Queen Connecticut is available and ready to be smoked.
Let’s talk about the blend: This Belicoso features a silky, light Connecticut Shade wrapper from Ecuador. However, don’t let the glistening leaf fool you; this is not your typical Connecticut cigar. This is one of the strongest Connecticuts I have ever smoked. Lee told me it was his intention to roll the lighter-wrapped cigar with lots of character and body. The binder and the filler are both from Nicaragua, offering that heavy-hitting experience. As far as the flavor notes, the Phantom Queen Belicoso offers notes of cedar, sandalwood, white pepper, toasted nuts, and hints of sweetness throughout. If you don’t retrohale, most of the pepper will be muted. If you do and you try on the initial light-up, you’ll see what I mean. The cigar’s complexity, coupled with its power, is truly a unique experience.
Stolen Throne Cigars always bring something new to the game in flavor and strength. The Crook in the Crown is one of those perfect Cinderella stories, and the Call to Arms Sumatra offers the smoker a unique experience in the depth of flavor. This new limited is the first Connecticut cigar from the company and is an amazing addition to the portfolio. Don’t sleep on this limited drop, only 1500 boxes of 10 were produced, and it’s a game changer.
