Voted on by our OGT community, I am proud to announce the 2022 OGT Cigar of the year: The Chaffiot See No Evil Lonsdale. Initially created for the OGT CIgar Society, the See No Evil Lonsdale is a custom vitola, measuring 6.5×48 in a box-pressed format. During the summer, at the inception of this cigar’s release, I had written a short blog on this cigar, anticipating the excitement. Here is an excerpt of that introduction:
“Chaffiot Cigars and OGT Cigar Society present the See No Evil Box Pressed Lonsdale. Justin Chaffiot says he feels that the Lonsdale brings a bit more strength to the blend. I love the intensity of flavor a Lonsdale offers, and the construction on a Box Pressed is exceptional. This particular vitola and blend are very special to me, and I can’t wait to share it with all our OGT Cigar Society members!”
On further conversation with Mr. Chaffiot, he had loved this size so much that he thought he might bring it back to production alongside the existing Robusto and Toro formats. As much as I enjoy the two regular production sizes, I feel this particular vitola brings the sweetness and intensity of the San Andres Maduro to life, not to mention a little added strength. I have always been a fan of a Lonsdale in a box pressed format, and apparently, I wasn’t alone. Our Society members, as well as the OGT family, agreed. Among the close votes that placed each cigar in their ranks of #2, #3, etc., our ‘Cigar of the Year’ slot was voted number one with an overwhelming number of votes.
Currently, there are plans to possibly bring this cigar back to production; however, if you wish to try this limited Lonsdale, with over six months of age I might add, don’t miss our top six sampler pack! These are going quickly, so don’t miss out on this powerhouse of a sampler. Not only does it have our 2022 Cigar of the Year, but also five other fantastic cigars that were proven exceptional!
