One of the newest companies to be added to the OGT Humidor, Black Star Line is known for its rich flavor and strength. Mallory and I sampled their flagship cigar, the War Witch Connecticut, at the previous tpe, Tobacco Plus Expo, and instantly fell in love with the blend. Produced at the Aganorsa factory, War Witch is a medium strength Connecticut with a very untraditional smoking experience. Many times we hear the term ‘not your grandfather’s Connecticut,’ and I have to say, this one is definitely not.
War Witch is produced in two sizes, the Corona 4×46 and a Lancero 7×40. Soon to be added to the portfolio is the return of its original launching size, a 5×50 Robusto. Originally, the cigar was created and paired together with a coffee sharing the same name. Given this fact, it is not a wonder why we are releasing this cigar on one of our Sinatra Coffee mornings. But that is not all, this stick will also be accompanied by the newest release from Black Star Line the Dark War Witch; a cigar with similar makeup save a Corojo 99 wrapper, and the Lalibela San Andres.
The War Witch has a Connecticut wrapper around a double binder from Nicaragua, and Niacaragua fillers. Aric, founder of Black Star Line says, “The most prevalent tasting notes include citrus, cedar, coffee and a nuttiness with a spicy white pepper on the retrohale.” Enjoy, this Connecticut has a definite kick to it!
