This 5 ½ x 60 box-pressed gordito consists of strictly Nicaraguan tobaccos, a sun-grown habano-seed wrapper from Estelí, a Nicaraguan binder, and five-year-old fillers from Condega and Estelí. Nereus is a rich, full-bodied, and very well-made cigar that offers a bold yet elegant smoking experience.
Nereus’s background is steeped in mythology and anticipation. After the success of their collaboration, The Redfish last year, Lure and Valacari decided to do another joint project to pay tribute to the Chinese Zodiac. The name of this cigar was inspired by the Greek mythical sea creature Nereus—half horse, half fish—thus, the “Year of the Seahorse” is celebrated. Made at La Tabacaria Cigars in Estelí, Nicaragua, this blend is distinct from The Redfish, showcasing the combined originality and vision of both brands.
The taste of the Lure Nereus Cigar is deep and intricate. The earthiness of Nicaraguan tobacco is mingled with delicate spices and the natural sweetness that gives flavor.
