Aganorsa Leaf Arsenio And There Cuban Seed Corojo 99

It’s no secret that Aganorsa Leaf has a special sauce they like to call their signature flavor. Blending with two primary seeds, the Corojo 99 and Criollo 98, Aganorsa has such a deep, rich flavor profile it’s unmistakable when you smoke their tobacco. Their Corojo 99 and Criollo 98 seeds are hybrids from the original Corojo seed grown in Cuba. The Cuban version was susceptible to diseases like blue mold or black shank. However, by hybridizing the seed, Aganorsa has perfected the taste and created a more resilient leaf. As they like to say, ‘their leaf is their strength’. Growing this incredible tobacco in two different areas, the Jalapa and Esteli regions, creates a unique flavor that brings notes of sweetness, spice, earth, cedar, and cream.

One of their newest cigars is the Aganorsa Leaf Arsenio. Named after Arsenio Ramos, this blend pays homage to the icon. Eduardo Fernandez, owner of Aganorsa, says, “Arsenio was a giant of the Cuban Tobacco Industry. He was a self-taught man of humble means, a true craftsman. He was a great human being who was instrumental in creating the singular flavor that distinguishes the richness of Aganorsa’s leaf, taking us back to the traditions of a true Habano of old. This blend was his favorite and a tribute to his lifetime of work.” The blend was originally Arsenio’s, and the company released it for Aganorsa lovers to enjoy when he passed away. It features a Corojo 99 wrapper from Jalapa over a binder and fillers from Nicaragua. Released in three sizes: Aganirsa Leaf Arsenio Corona 6×44, Aganirsa Leaf Arsenio Robusto 5.25×54, and Aganirsa Leaf Arsenio Toro 6×52.
