HVC Cigars releases a limited edition called the Black Friday cigar each year. Their newest blend, created by Reinier Lorenzo, just dropped! This is a new experience for HVC cigars because of the uniqueness of the tobaccos in the filler. Introducing the HVC Black Friday 2024 De Ometepe. That’s right, Ometepe tobacco takes center stage in this year’s rendition. The island of Ometepe sits in the center of the great Nicaraguan Lake. Most of the tobacco is grown by one farmer, and in the valley between twin volcanoes. The soil produces a distinct earthy, sweet flavor, and HVC cigars wanted to bring that to the forefront.

The HVC Black Friday 2024 De Ometepe is released in one size, a 5 7/8×52 Robusto extra (almost a Toro). Rolled at the company’s newer factory Fabrica de Tabacos HVC S.A., the cigar is wrapped in a three-year-old Mexican San Andres Maduro wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and select fillers from Nicaragua, including Ometepe. This is the first time the company has used Ometepe tobacco in a blend due to its difficulty securing it. Placed in 50-count boxes, this year’s production is smaller. Last year 600 boxes were crafted versus this year’s 400. That is total of 10,000 less made!
