Crowned Heads has put out several awesome sticks this year, and they are just getting started. The much anticipated, event-only Blood Medicine Cigar has now been made available in a limited edition run for Crowned Heads retailers. This cigar has become legendary among Crowned Heads fans. As I mentioned, it was previously an event-only cigar, but Owner and Blender Jon Huber wanted to allow many others to try it.
According to the press release, Huber stated, “Blood Medicine has been featured at hundreds of Crowned Heads Road Shows. This will be the first-time consumers will be able to purchase this exclusive blend. For this release we choose to feature the Blood Medicine blend in a Toro format. The Blood Medicine cigar is comprised of an Ecuadorian (Connecticut) binder, all Nicaraguan filler tobaccos, and finished with a near flawless Ecuadorian (Habano) cover leaf. Production is limited to 1,500 (12-count) boxes for the global market. Blood Medicine LE 2024 is manufactured at the TacaNicsa factory in Esteli, Nicaragua, under the supervision of Eradio Pichardo.”
“To this point, we’ve only utilized ‘Blood Medicine’ as an event-only, gift-with-purchase cigar, and always in a traditional 5” x 50 Robusto vitola. The blend has always been truly exceptional, and based on the inquiries and feedback I was personally receiving, I felt as though not enough people were receiving the opportunity to enjoy it. So late last year, we decided to take the blend, adjust it to a 6” x 52 vitola, and make it available internationally”.
Packaged in twelve count boxes, the Crowned Heads Blood Medicine is released in one size, a 6×52. As said in the press release, this is a limited Edition for 2024. Unfortunately, this won’t be a part of their core line. As Jon put it, it features a ‘near flawless wrapper. The leaf is rather dark, at least darker than most of its kind. It was displayed at the trade show, however, not available for sampling. I personally have been wanting to get my hands on this cigar for some time, and I can’t wait to share it with the OGT community. For any Crowned Heads fan, this cigar is a must.
