HVC Black Friday 2023

The newest HVC Black Friday 2023 blend just hit the shelves! Each year, Reinier Lorenzo blends a special, ‘interesting’ vitola blend under the name Black Friday. While last year had an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper over a collection of visos and secos, this year, a different approach was taken. The newest Black Friday features a San Andres Maduro wrapper. One of the most toothy wrappers I have seen in some time, the color on this Maduro is mocha shade. Underneath lies very carefully selected Visos and secos to blend well with the leaf. Lorenzo states that his style of cigar is always more flavor forward than strength.

Unlike many other cigars produced by HVC, the Black Friday 2023 is made in Nicaragua, Fábrica de Tabacos HVC S.A. de Reinier Lorenzo. He opened his factory just over a year ago and it has been awesome seeing the journey and growth. While I love tobacco produced by Aganorsa, it is great seeing new factories pop up and what they become known for. Lorenzo’s style of cigar is reminiscent of Cuban blends in their transitions and flavors. HVC resembles tradition in it’s production.

The HVC Black Friday 2023 is produced in one size; a 4.5×56 Petit Gordito. Packaged in 50 count cabinets, this line was limited to only 600 boxes made. HVC Black Friday is something I always look forward to for its unique flavor and subtle, sometimes not so subtle, differences each year. Check out the newest rendition that just dropped!
