At the start of the OGT Cigar Society, we featured Emilio Cigars and their classic Grimalkin Toro. The original blend features a Nicaraguan wrapper over a Ecuadorian Habano binder, and fillers from Nicaragua. The cigar is superb when it comes to complexity and flavor, sporting a medium strength profile. This month, Emilio Cigars from Oveja Negra Brands is releasing a VERY limited new blend called the Emilio Grimalkin Seasonal Edition Toro. The following is an expert from James Brown’s Press Release:
“Emilio Cigars is pleased to announce the release of the Grimalkin Seasonal Edition: Hand crafted in Esteli, Nicaragua at Fabrica Oveja Negra.
Grimalkin Seasonal is being released in time to enjoy for Halloween and fall festivities. “To celebrate one of my favorite times of year, Grimalkin seasonal is back. We changed things up a bit this time around. The blend of filler tobacco has stayed the same, but we did a dual wrapper, closed foot and a rabito cap. The Grimalkin has rich, intense flavors of dark fruit, herbal cedar notes and mild baking spice on the layered, complex finish. Grimalkin Seasonal Limited Edition will be available in limited quantities at select retailers beginning this week.”
Details on the blend
The wrapper is a dual Ecuador Maduro and Corojo. Underneath lies a Nicaraguan Habano Binder and Fillers from Nicaragua. Grimalkin Seasonal Edition is limited to only 400 boxes and in one vitola, a 5×50 Robusto. This is one of the more limited releases from Emilio, and if you have been a fan of blends like Audiphile and Suave, this is meant for you!
