Espinosa Cigars have reached a new level in the last several years. From their original blends to their most recent, Erik Espinosa has created an amazing and diverse portfolio. Using two factories, Lazona and AJ Fernandez, he creates heavy hitting cigars like 601, Laranja Azulaejo and Escuro, to lighter like Wasabi and La Crema. Recently, his collaboration with Guy Fieri has only increased interest. The three blends he did with Guy. the Knuckle Sandwich trio, are perhaps his most popular, offering a Connecticut, Habano, and Maduro. But it doesn’t stop there! As a limited release from Erik, he has just crafted a custom vitola, 9 pack sampler called the Knuckle Sandwich Prix Fixe.
This comes in a pre packed box of nine cigars; three of each blend in a spectacular 5×58 ‘short perfecto’ size. Quiet honestly, it reminds me of the flying pig sizes you see crafted by drew estate. What is more exciting than a pig crafted at the AJ Factory? This gorgeous sampler pack allows you to explore the Knuckle Sandwich cigars but in a totally limited size! In fact, the boxes were limited to only 1500 in total, making this sampler extremely rare.
In terms of what each one has to offer, the Knuckle Sandwich Connecticut is one of those lighter cigars that are rich in flavor and body while maintaining a more mild profile. Sometimes when you light up a Connecticut, you feel like you are smoking air? This is not the case. The Habano has a fare amount of spice up front with noticeable transitions of sweetness, earth, and leather. The Maduro is a chocolate spice bomb, and perhaps my favorite of the three. The Espinosa Prix Fixe sampler is a available now (but in short supply). If you are a fan of the original Espinosa Knuckle Sandwich line, don’t pass this one up.
