What started as an exclusive project by Steve Saka has now expanded nationwide. The Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust Red Meat Lovers is shipping out to OGT Cigars. Originally, this cigar was sold only at Smoke Inn, as a private blend for that retailer. However, it has expanded and grown in popularity so much that Saka has added it to his official portfolio. I had the opportunity to enjoy it at the recent PCA Trade Show in Vegas, and I am happy to announce it is coming to Oak Glen Tobacconist. What is it? According to Steve Saka, he says, “Cigars and steaks go hand in hand, but to my knowledge, no one has ever actually developed a blend specifically created to be enjoyed intentionally together as a ‘pairing’. You would think this would be a rather straightforward task, but I took the responsibility very seriously in the selection of the various tobaccos to best compliment the hearty nature of the beef.”
The Red Meat Lovers cigar is wrapped in a dark San Andres Maduro wrapper over Binder and Fillers from Nicaragua and the USA. However, unlike the previous run, there are four complete sizes to the Red Meat Lovers Cigar. This cigar will now be available in ‘amusing’ sizes such as:
- Red Meat Lovers Club Beef Stick (6 x 48)
- Red Meat Lovers Club Filet Mignon (5 x 54)
- Red Meat Lovers Club Ribeye (6 x 52)
- Red Meat Lovers Club Porterhouse (6 x 60)
As Saka described, the Dunbarton Tobacco and Trust Red Meat Lovers Cigar is meaty, savory, sweet, and a little spicey. The box-pressed versions of these are simply tantalizing. As usual, Saka takes your palate on a journey that is deep in flavor, subtle in transitions, and clean on the palate. If there is something that stands out to me, it is the clean finish of this cigar. This will be available soon at Oak Glen Tobacconist, so keep an eye out for this savory delight!
