OGT Cigar Society Blenders Box July 2023

OGT CIGAR SOCIETY MEMBERSHIP MEETING Friday, July 14th

This week is an exciting one for the OGT Cigar Society. A huge thank you and shoutout to all our members across the US. Our membership, built on cigar culture, community, and craftsmanship, is shipping out the July 2023 box, one like none other. Each member will receive our blender box, a set of fumes and cigars, focusing on the blending process. Each month, the Society receives a five-pack of a single blend, crafted exclusively for the Cigar Club. This year we have seen magnificent works like Silver Blaze from Stallone, Home 2023 from Dissident, Bloody Knuckle from Chaffiot, and recently Elixir from Aganorsa. The goal of each month is to recognize and experience exceptional cigar makers in the industry.

The OGT Fuma Blending Box is a behind-the-scenes look at the blending process. While this box will not make anyone a ‘master blender,’ it does give a glimpse at tasting individual tobaccos and how to blend them together. This a very unique experience, one that I believe has not been done before in a cigar club. Another shoutout to CLE Cigars and Adam Guard of Dreamer Cigars for making this happen. In each box, every society member will receive two CLE cigars, finished and ready to smoke. This will give everyone a chance to see what the company is about and how they blend their own. Along with those, 6 fumas are sent. These look like small cigars; the filler, binder, and wrapper are all made up of the same tobacco. This way, you can smoke, taste, and experience each tobacco by itself. The FUMA list is as follows:

1 Cameroon

2 Mexico

3 Habano CASP

4 Indomex

5 Corojo

6 Habano

Tasting these tobaccos, try them by themselves or even together, learning what they each offer and what they need to be complimented. Provided in the box is a custom OGT flavor wheel to assist you in what you are tasting, as well as a note card for each fuma. Write down appearance, flavors, and even a rating system at the bottom. Once you have tried them all, a QR code is included to scan and place your official ballot, voting on your favorite tobaccos you want to be used in the future blend. Later in the year, once all the votes have been taken, CLE will craft a 5 pack of cigars based on the popular votes that all our members sent in, thus creating the first-ever crowd-sourced blend from our members!

There are only a few spots left to join the membership and become a part of this process. The Fuma box is being shipped out this week, so now is your chance to jump on this by SIGNING UP HERE. It is important to note, that membership, unfortunately, closes on July 10th. If you have been thinking of joining, now is the time before it shuts down. The following month is the much anticipated King of Clowns Cigar Clowns cigar, a 6×52 torpedo boasting a beautiful San Andres Maduro wrapper.
