Earlier this year, Aganorsa Leaf returned with its annual release, the Supreme Leaf 2023. They came and went in a matter of days. However, I tucked away a few boxes, and now the return of Supreme has come! Using the highest grade of Corojo 99, this orange and purple labeled cigar is an iconic staple in the Aganorsa portfolio. Each year, Supreme Leaf is presented in a different vitola, usually box pressed. However, 2023 brought some new things to the market, one being the first time this cigar is offered in a parejo ’round’ format.
As Terence Reilly, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, stated: “Demand for Supreme Leaf continues to grow and we are committed to releasing the same incredible blend in a new format with each release. Rolling the blend as a traditional parejo and not box pressing it gives the consumer the opportunity to compare how this vitola compares to previous releases. I’m excited for the feedback from consumers once this hits the market in February, especially since this release will mark the first time in over a year Supreme Leaf will be available and expectations are higher than ever.”
This 6×52 Toro is available now at OGT Cigars. In terms of flavor profile, the Supreme Leaf 2023 offers medium strength, medium plus body experience. At light up, there is a fair amount of white pepper and mixed sweetness with notes of cedar, cream, toasted bread, cinnamon, pie crust, and roasted nuts. The silky smoke from this cigar is unreal and a perfect any-time-of-the-day cigar. I would suggest a rum pairing, adding more sweetness to the blend without overwhelming it. Or perhaps a sweetened coffee; this cigar and the Corojo 99 wrapper is a great go to for coffee pairings.
