At the beginning of the year, Black Works Studio and Black Label Trading released several new things; the Santa Muerte into the core line, the limited S&R Barberpole, and another cigar that perhaps didn’t get the recognition it deserves. The Rorschach line had another blend added to it, the Rorschach Sumatra. The original blend features a Habano wrapper from Ecuador and is available in two sizes: a 4.5×48 Short Robusto and a 5×38 Petite Panatela. Rorschach has always embodied the concept of intense flavor in a smaller connoisseur’s size. This is continued in the new blend, also released in a 4.5×48 Short Robusto.
James Brown, Owner and Blender of Oveja Negra Brands, released the following statement about his new creation: “The original Rorschach is definitely a big cigar in a small package. The new Sumatran version is a lighter profile highlighting Jalapa tobacco. Layers of soft cedar, cinnamon, and mild pepper create a complex profile with a long creamy finish.”
Surmounted with a white label with black accents, the new Black Works Studio Rorschach Sumatra is available in boxes of 50 and is the newest core line product to the Black Works portfolio. In terms of intensity, the flavor and complexity are there, but the strength is definitely harnessed. This is one of the best candidates for a morning coffee paring due to its sweetness, strength, and size. If you don’t have time to commit to a full toro, or perhaps to are on vacation and prefer a low-commitment cigar, Rorshach Sumatra has you covered. This cigar deserves the spotlight and is another amazing layer in the BLK WRKS portfolio.
