Steve Saka’s first love, or should I say his OG Mi Querida, has returned to Oak Glen Tobacconist. It has a few names, but perhaps my favorite is ‘SakaKhan!’ Released in only one size, the Mi Querida Black Corona Doble first became available last year after the annual PCA trade show. Unfortunately, due to its high popularity, the SakaKhan came and went in a blink of an eye. After nearly a year, it has finally returned to OGT and is available in short supply. Why is this cigar so special? There are a number of reasons, but why not have Saka explain:
“This is a 7.25 x 54 Limited Production of the most exclusive Mi Querida to date. “Black” is intended to be a 2023 release, but I had enough of a pilot crop of a unique Honduran leaf needed for this Liga ready to roll ~3,500 10ct boxes of these big, bold beauties.”
That Honduran Leaf Steve talks about is his special ingredient that makes the flavor profile of SakaKhan stand out from the other Mi Querida lines. His passion for this cigar lies in the combination of sweetness and richness found by blending Connecticut Broadleaf and the Honduran filler. Although Corona Doble is normally too big of a cigar for my enjoyment, this vitola seems to work. I suppose it is just another testament to his blending style. While there is strength and power to SakaKhan, it is also one of the best-balanced cigars that tames the ‘in your face’ aspect. Dunbarton’s Mi Querida Black is an addition for everyone’s humidor and shouldn’t be missed. Get ’em while they’re hot!
