Black Workls Studio cigars is a subsidiary of Black Label Trading Company Cigars. Owned and blended by James Brown, and under the umbrella of Oveja Negra Brands, Black Works Studio Cigars is the canvass of creativity James paints on. The portfolio, both regular production and limited releases are full of colorful and ‘out-of-the-box’ concepts to the norms of the cigar industry. His Killer Bee trilogy is an expertly blended trio of flavors, using Ecuadorian Maduro, Connecticut Shade, and even Candela in their makeup. The NBK, which stands for Natural Born Killer, is a spicy, rustic, sweet Habano that kicks off with a plethora of flavors. Its counterpart, the NBK Lizard King, is a specially crafted Barberpole using Maduro and Habano both from Ecuador. This year, Black Works Studio Cigars will be bringing back their limited S&R for a very anticipated return.
According to James, he says, “Black Works Studio (BLK WKS) focuses on artisanal qualities of small batch cigar making. Each line in the BLK WKS portfolio is produced in limited vitolas and 100 box batches. Our goal is to push the boundaries and create cigars for the next generation of cigar smokers.” On the Black Works Studio S&R, he remarked, “Adding the line represents the broad spectrum of cigars produced under the Black Works Studio line, which is part of Black Label Trading Co. It first launched in November 2015 as a way to show off the talent, technique, and tobacco of Fabrica Oveja Negra in smaller-batch releases.”
For the first time since 2020, BLK WRKS S&R returns. S&R is a dynamic barber pole using a Sumatra and Connecticut wrapper over an Ecuadorian Binder, and fillers from the Dominican and Nicaragua. Released in three vitolas, a 5×50 Robusto, 6×46 Corona large, and a special 6.75×42 Lancero Culebra (Yes, three Lanceros twisting within themselves, almost snake-like.) This cigar will be coming this March, so keep an eye out for it. Black Works Studio is adding several cigars to their lineup in 2023, and they offer an elevated smoking experience above many others. And, as always, keep an eye out for Neon Tiger sightings! You never know when one might pop up.
