Chaffiot Cigars is partnering up with us here at the OGT CIgar Society. This is not the first time Chaffiot has been featured in the subscription box; in the first year, the Society showcased the Hear No Evil Cameroon Robusto. Due to the popularity and success of aging, Chaffiot Cigars is returning to Society but this time in the form of a custom cigar. The three pillars of the Chaffiot Collection are the ‘No Evil’ blends: Cameroon, San Andres, and Sumatra.’ I absolutely fell in love with the San Andres blend, and can’t wait to offer it to all our members.
The San Andres is traditionally rolled in two sizes, a 6×52 Toro and 5×54 Robusto. Chaffiot’s notes on the blend are rich in cocoa, espresso, and earth. When I smoked the Toro I noted a medium plus strength and transitions that move from spicey to sweet, with a barnyard depth that really adds to the complexity. However, for those who know our custom blends in the past, you have probably seen releases that share a small ring gauge commonality. This custom vitola really leans heavily on that aspect while balancing the richness of flavor found in the blend.
Chaffiot Cigars and OGT Cigar Society present the See No Evil Box Pressed Lonsdale. Our Membership highlight is a 6.5×48 Lonsdale in a Box Pressed finish. Justin Chaffio says he feels that the Lonsdale brings a bit more strength to the blend. I absolutely love the intensity of flavor a Lonsdale offers, and construction on a Box Pressed is exceptional. All in all, this particular vitola and blend are very special to me and I can’t wait to share it with all our OGT Cigar Society members!
