Black Works Studios Killer Bee Connecticut Petite Corona

Black Works Studios is the wild sister company of Black Label Trading Company. Using innovative techniques in the tobacco world, Black Works releases blends that ‘think outside of the box.’ One such cigar is the Killer Bee Petite Corona. Using a dark Ecuadorian Maduro wrapper, the Killer Bee is finished with a twist of Connecticut spiraling up the head of the cigar. The Killer bee has a decent cult following, and once you smoke it, you may understand. However, this year at PCA 2022, James Brown of Black Works Studios released the Bee’s counterpart, the Killer Bee Connecticut. This is not the first time this cigar has appeared, in fact, James made it available four years ago as a part of a limited line. However, this time, the Connecticut version has been added to full production.

“We are excited about the return of the Killer Bee Connecticut.” James Brown says, “It was one of our most popular cigars in the Killer Bee line. After several years of requests, we are happy to announce Killer Bee Connecticut will now be a core-line product. With similar profiles to the Killer Bee, it may not be what you expect from a typical Connecticut cigar. The Connecticut wrapper gives an added creaminess and changes up the spice components quite a bit.” -James Brown, creator of BLK WKS and partner at Fabrica Oveja Negra.

Released in twenty-four count boxes, the Killer Bee Connecticut is a one-size-only cigar; 4.5×46 Petite Corona. The wrapper is a Connecticut and Ecuador Maduro swirl cap and a closed foot. The Maduro cap is a great expression of flavor change in the transition. Once you light up the straight Maduro foot, you taste that sweetness and cocoa from the beginning. As the cigar continues, you get to experience the switch to creamy and nutty Connecticut. The binder is a Habano from Nicaragua with fillers from Nicaragua as well. The Killer Bee Connecticut is a great anytime cigar, satisfying in body, medium in strength, and full in flavor. It gives me great joy to share the return of the Killer Bee Connecticut. I hope you enjoy it.
