You can’t think of Steve Saka without picturing his Sobremesa Brulee Connecticut. His revolutionary shade grown cigar is one of his most popular among cigar enthusiasts. In August of 2019 his Brulee Connecticut started shipping to retailers in the US. It was an instant hit. With flavors of cedar, caramel and café, which are complemented by its inherent sweetness. After the overwhelming success, he continued to work with his Connecticut shad wrapper and emerged from his blending room with something truly special. Steve Saka announced his ‘tweaked’ version, the Sobremesa Brulee Blue. This is new blend is released in one size, a 6.25×46 pigtailed vitola, with baby blue coloring on the foot band and between the familiar Sobremesa crown. The blend consists of a golden Ecuadorian Shade grown wrapper of the highest grade, over a San Andres binder, and four different Nicaraguan fillers each aged up to a year.
The flavor is a bevy of complexities with notes of vanilla bean, cream, nuttiness, earth, and a bready consistency layered with sweetness. If there is another point that comes to mind when you hear Steve Saka’s name, you also think of a complex and mature smoking experience. Some might seem warry of the price point found on some of his cigars, but when you blend like Saka, it’s beyond justified. From his Mi Querida to Sobremesa, to even his new Muestra de Saka the ‘Bewitched’ his tobaccos and construction offers an elevated smoking experience.
Limited to only 1000 boxes of 13 each, the Sobremesa Brulee Blue is a special treat for any aficionado. The elegance from his blend is undeniable and is paired well with espresso, creamed coffee, or light palate scotch. The Sobremesa Brulee Blue has just entered the OGT Humidor. I hope you enjoy.
